Corrosion and materials degradation in the horticultural industry: a nationwide survey with economic and technical aspects



Scientific Horticulture 34: 84-93



The principal findings on the cost and nature of corrosion in the British horticultural industry are presented. The total direct cost of corrosion is about #10 million per annum, with consequential losses probably increasing this figure to over #24 million. Key general technical problems are highlighted and a brief description is given of specific difficulties, including problems in glasshouses.
