About 300 dried skim milk samples from 8 EEC countries were analysed for moisture, protein, lactose, fat and ash by NIR with a Technicon Infra Alyzer 400 (IA-400) and by reference methods. By multiple linear regression analysis of results for selected samples, 5 equations were obtained for calibrating the IA-400 for all kinds of dried skim milk produced in the EEC.
