A total of 15 broiler chickens were fed on a diet of wheat/wheat gluten supplemented with lysine with nitrogen intake 1500, 2100 or 3000 mg/kgW0.67 between the 11th and 20th day of life and tested with regard to N balances and 15N incorporation in selected tissues and total body. The N balance trials showed no differences but 15N incorporation indicated slightly more favourable utilization of synthetic lysine in total body and liver with N 3000 mg/kg.
