Abstract
From results of a Latin square experiment and metabolism trials with 6 crossbred calves given diets designed to meet the requirements for digestible crude protein as recommended by Sen and Ray (1971) Nutritive value of cattle feeds and the feeding of animals, 6th edition, New Delhi, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, it was concluded that pods of Prosopis juliflora could be included at up to 20% in concentrates without adversely affecting daily DM intake/100 kg liveweight, digestibility of proximate constituents and daily retention of nitrogen, phosphorus and calcium.
