Effect of potassium under specific conditions on yield and composition of broad bean seeds

The effect of increasing K supply and salinity was investigated on growth and yield of pot grown plants of Vicia faba Giza 2. K supply increased stem, leaf, root and whole plant dry wt. 40 or 70 days after sowing at medium (285 p.p.m.) and high (380 p.p.m.) levels; the effects decreased with increasing salinity. K application improved the water content of leaves and the plants showed more tolerance to drought under salinization than those receiving a basic K supply of 190 p.p.m. 285 p.p.m.
