Effect of prolonged consumption of lactose or hydrolysed lactose in rats. IV. Liver composition

Effect of prolonged consumption of lactose or hydrolysed lactose in rats. IV. Liver composition

International Journal for Vitamin and Nutrition Research 53(3): 345-348

Groups of 12 Wistar male rats received well-balanced diets containing 12% milk protein and 40% carbohydrate either as sucrose, lactose or hydrolysed lactose (from whey or a whey ultrafiltration permeate). After 270 days the rats were killed and their livers analysed for total N, cholesterol, vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin and niacin contents.
