The Chimkent pond farm, typical of fish farms in Kazakhstan, USSR, initially (1964) contained carp but subsequently Far-Eastern fish stock was added; the resultant changes in the parasite fauna, and the good effect of prophylactic measures instigated in the 1970's are briefly reported.
