In a field trial in 1982-3 at Cachoeirinha, rice BR-IRGA 409, BR-IRGA 410 and line P798-B4-4-1T (L386) were given 0, 30, 60, 90 or 120 kg N/ha either (a) 33% as a basal dressing or (b) 33% at tillering and the remainder of each at flower initiation. The N treatments were also given 40 kg P2O5 + 60 kg K2O/ha at sowing.
