Effect of rates and methods of urea application on chemical composition of maize plant
The response of maize Hybrid 19 to 30, 45, 60, 75 or 90 kg N/feddan was investigated during 1976-7 under 3 methods of application: single soil dressing, single foliar dressing and split dressings with half the dose applied to the soil and half applied to the foliage. Total, soluble and protein-N contents of the leaf blades, stem and sheath increased at 50 days after sowing.
