Mice infected with 80 Trichinella spiralis larvae each, received orally on days 2-4, 6-11 or 25-30 either 100 mg/kg body weight of thiabendazole or 75 mg/kg of 4 other benzimidazole derivatives. Simultaneous corticosteroid treatment was given. Thiabendazole caused an acute leucocytic response irrespective of administration time but particularly after the early treatment.
