, : Effect of specific and symptomatic therapy on the white blood cell response in experimental trichinelliasis of mice. I. White blood cell response of mice under conditions of treatment with benzimidazole derivatives. Wiadomosci Parazytologiczne 29(4/6): 505-515

Mice infected with 80 Trichinella spiralis larvae each, received orally on days 2-4, 6-11 or 25-30 either 100 mg/kg body weight of thiabendazole or 75 mg/kg of 4 other benzimidazole derivatives. Simultaneous corticosteroid treatment was given. Thiabendazole caused an acute leucocytic response irrespective of administration time but particularly after the early treatment.
