Estimation of losses in weight of grains in T-15-15 variety of tur (Cajanus cajan Millsp.) due to tur pod borers

A field trial was carried out in Gujarat, India, in 1974-75 to estimate the losses caused to the T-15-15 variety of tur by Euchrysops cnejus (F.) and Melanagromyza obtusa (Mall.). The loss in available weight of 100 damaged grains caused by E. cnejus was 10.07 g and by M. obtusa 6.55 g. The percentage of grain infestation by E. cnejus was 40.37 and by M. obtusa 37.85.
