Abstract
Twelve Mexican triticales were crossed with bread wheats. Trangressive segregation was apparent from the F2 for yield-related characters, including ear length, spikelet number, number of grains/spike and grain weight/spike. The widest range of segregates for plant height and heading date was found in Tbilisuri 5 X triticale and Bezostaya 1 [Awnless 1] X triticale. Early hybrids of the wheat type were selected.
