66 Alpine goats were vaccinated at 6-11 months of age, mated 10-16 weeks after vaccination, and challenged conjunctivally with B. melitensis strain 53H38 40 days after mating. 90 Limousin ewes were vaccinated at 6-8 months of age, mated 3-4 months later, and challenged 40 days after mating.
