Influence of dietary protein level on the availability of selenium. 2. An investigation into the influence of dietary protein level on the selenium contents and glutathione peroxidase activities in blood and tissues of rats

Influence of dietary protein level on the availability of selenium. 2. An investigation into the influence of dietary protein level on the selenium contents and glutathione peroxidase activities in blood and tissues of rats

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 5(2): 145-150

2. Diets low in selenium (0.03 mg/kg) with different amounts of protein were given to weanling rats for 13 weeks. The range of dietary protein was from 5.6 to 14.2%. Dietary Se of half the group on low protein and half the group on high protein was changed from 0.03 to 0.30 mg/kg at 10 weeks and a 3-day metabolic study was made at 12 weeks.
