Intergenotypic competitive ability of spring wheat plants and its importance for breeding. II. Effect of competition on variation and heritability of economically important quantitative characters

Intergenotypic competitive ability of spring wheat plants and its importance for breeding. II. Effect of competition on variation and heritability of economically important quantitative characters

Genetika, USSR 18(1): 108-115

Genetic variation in grain weight/plant and heritability for this character varied greatly under the effect of competition in a population of varieties differing in number of dwarfing genes. Some other yield components were similarly affected, but height was the least variable character.
