Manufacture of a whole milk replacer

Manufacture of a whole milk replacer

USSR Patent: (SU 971 214 A)

Fresh skim milk (3 t with about 9% TS) is concentrated by vacuum evaporation to 50% TS obtaining 600 kg concentrate. 465 kg of the concentrate are then mixed with 150 kg fat/phosphatide mixture, 75 kg sugar beet molasses, 53 kg feed concentrate of L-lysine, 7 kg methionine and vitamin A, D and E concentrates. The product after thorough mixing is homogenized to 3-5 micro m fat particles, mixed at 3:1 ratio with a pea extrudate, granulated, dried to 8% moisture, comminuted and packaged.
