For this region of European Russian, promising breeding material of various crops is listed, including (1) the best of >200 sweet peppers tested during 1976-81 at the Pavlovsk and Polar Experiment Stations, (2) the best lettuce varieties for greenhouse cultivation of those tested during 1976-81, (3) the best of >100 witloof chicory varieties tested during 1970-80 at the Pavlovsk and Polar Experiment Stations and in Moscow province, and (4) promising Rheum and Rumex varieties.
