Infusionstherapie und Klinische Ernahrung Forschung und Praxis 11(3): 165-167
Nutritional, immunological and clinical indices in randomized patients on enteral or parenteral nutrition after operations on the large intestine
From day 3 to 10 after colon resection 60 patients, male or female, in 2 comparable groups of average age 68 years received 30 kcal/kg daily from nutrient solutions of fairly similar composition, based on protein, fat and carbohydrate, as a high-molecular formula by nasogastric tube or as a jugular catheter infusion.
