The origins, agronomic characteristics and disease resistance of wheat OCEPAR 8 (Macuco) are described. In 4 trials in 1982 and 1983 on soils with Al, Macuco was compared with Alondra 4546, Charrua, Maringa and Sulino. Macuco had the highest yield in all trials in 1982; in 1983 it was outyielded by Sulino at Realeza, Ubirata and Cascavel.
