Observations on the ecology of two beetle pests of ash, Leperesinus fraxini (Coleoptera, Scolytidae) and Stereonychus fraxini (Coleoptera, Curculionidae)

, : Observations on the ecology of two beetle pests of ash, Leperesinus fraxini (Coleoptera, Scolytidae) and Stereonychus fraxini (Coleoptera, Curculionidae). Revue Forestiere Francaise 35(4): 283-288

S. fraxini is a weevil that attacks only Fraxinus excelsior. It has 2-3 generations per yr. Most damage is caused by the larvae attacking the foliage. The adults may attack the buds. The bark beetle L. fraxini has one generation a year. The emergent adults attack the young branches, causing tumours.
