Observations on the reproductive biology of some sour cherry cultivars

, : Observations on the reproductive biology of some sour cherry cultivars. Informatore Agrario 39(38): 27555-27557

It is concluded from studies of 13 varieties over two years that Crisana, Koroser Weichsel, Kutahja, Marascone Rosso and Reine Hortense are self incompatible, and that Amarena di Francavilla and Marasca di Zara are partially self incompatible. In some of the self compatible varieties, such as Fanal, Lotova and Montmorency, artificial selfing resulted in a better fruit set than open pollination; in others, the reverse was true.

Production of alpha -amylase was induced in endosperms of distal half grains in response to GA. A study of alpha -amylase isozyme patterns in over 200 genotypes revealed allelic variation at 5 of the 6 alpha -Amy-1 and alpha -Amy-2 structural loci...

An analytical method for measuring in vivo inhibition of prostaglandin (PG) synthesis by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs was developed for estimation of urinary PG levels in rats. Drugs were administered orally to rats (Wistar, male, 200-250...

This ELISA used a highly specific m...
