3. Kinetic indices of the protein metabolism of chickens (origin "Tetra B") were estimated by pulse labelling with lycine. Six test chickens received a feed mixture containing 20% or 40% crude protein. After they had reached a liveweight of 800 g (43rd day of life) a single application of 250 mg lycine with 35 mg 15N-excess (15N') in 2 ml water was injected in a wing vein.
