Plants of cotton Giza 75 grown during 1977 and 1978 were given 0, 20, 40, 60 or 80 kg N/feddan and irrigated at intervals of 14, 21 or 28 days. Increasing N levels increased lint length, seed protein content and seed pulp:coat ratio, and decreased lint strength, fibre fineness and seed oil content.
