In a greenhouse trial on 20 soils, application of 75 kg P/ha significantly increased Guinea grass DM yield on soils with less than 20 mu g available P (Bray 1)/g. This level of soil P is suggested as the critical value for cultivation of Guinea grass in SW Nigeria.
