Response of potatoes and other crops grown in rotation to P and K fertilizers and farmyard manure in India

Response of potatoes and other crops grown in rotation to P and K fertilizers and farmyard manure in India

Potash Review (Subject 11, Suite 28, 5): 5

The effect of P and K fertilizers and farmyard manure (FYM) application to potato grown in rotation with other crops in different agroclimatic regions of India is discussed. In general, potato showed large and profitable response to PK fertilizer and also to farmyard manure. Potato was more responsive to P, K and FYM than cereals or other crops in rotations, though crops following potatoes benefited from the PK residues left by that crop.
