Pot culture and field experiments were conducted om some ultisol and oxisol soils to determine nutrient requirements, except nitrogen and phosphorus, for grass/legume pastures. Centrosema pubescens (centro), Pueraria phaseoloides (puero) and Stylosanthes guianensis Schofield (stylo) were grown as test species in the pot culture experiments.
