Returning to pastoralism: three cases from the Negev Bedouin

Returning to pastoralism: three cases from the Negev Bedouin

Nomadic Peoples (15): 41-50

The paper aims to demonstrate the way in which individuals shift back to pastoralism under certain circumstances. The cases are about Jaraween Bedouin, whose group, El Jaraween, has experienced forced relocation from its tribal territories due to the political events of 1948. Since then, the group has gone through a process of sedentarization and is currently located in the vicinity of the Bedouin town of Tel Sheva.
