Review of safety data of flumethrin, a new tickicidal pyrethroid

Review of safety data of flumethrin, a new tickicidal pyrethroid

Veterinary Medical Review, German Federal Re ic (2): 158-168

During the development of the acaricide flumethrin, trials were conducted to test the safety of the compound for cattle, horses, sheep, goats and dogs. The possible risks for the user, the consumer and wildlife were assessed. This review of unpublished trials shows that flumethrin is very safe in livestock. Even concentrations well in excess of the therapeutic level did not produce toxic signs in newborn animals.
