Rural development and enterprises in the Third World

Rural development and enterprises in the Third World

Reports/Studies, Division for the Study of Development, UNESCO (RRD 22): 45

This report maintains that in rural development efforts it should not be a question of integrating peasants into development, but rather of adapting development and modernization to the rural situation. It is important for the rural population to share control of the development process. The report recommends encouraging the peasants to form their own types of enterprise, on a collective basis.
