Some studies on the catalytic properties of the calcium-dependent endoribonuclease of Trypanosoma brucei cytoplasm

Studies on the catalytic properties of a calcium-dependent endoribonuclease isolated from the cytoplasm of bloodstream form T. brucei showed that the enzyme preferentially degrades poly-ribonucleotides which contain adenylic acid residues to small oligonucleotides with 5'-phosphate termini. Apparent Km values also indicated greater binding affinity for poly(A) regions of ribopolymers.
