Not all the varieties and lines studied maintained their grain viability to the same degree after prolonged storage. For example, laboratory germination percentage after 6 years' storage was 96-97% in the variety Sterling and the line WF9, while in Severodakotskaya TV this degree of germination was maintained for 9 years and in the line VIR44M only for 5 years. The least stable was the germinability of line SG25TV, which by the 2nd year of storage had fallen to 93%.
