Studies on technology of cultural practices for rice double cropping in Malaysia. VII. Effect of pre-planting soil drying on growth and yield of rice in the Muda Irrigation Area

In pot trials drying the soil for 43 days before potting increased yields though increases in panicle wt. of 202% and of above-ground plant wt. of 184%. The effect of soil drying on mineralization of N persisted for 1 month after transplanting.
