The duration and protective ability of maternal antibody (MAb) to infectious bursal disease virus in chicks derived from parents vaccinated with two experimentally prepared vaccines and an imported oil emulsion vaccine were examined. Maternal antibodies could be detected by an immunodiffusion test in 100% of 1-day-old chicks derived from parents vaccinated with any one of the three vaccines.
