Abstract
For a North Caucasus Mutton-Wool flock, the correlation of the amount of wool wax with the depth of impurities in the fleece was -0.29 in rams, -0.39 in ewes, and -0.22 in replacement ewes. Wool wax melting point was correlated with the width of the weathered part of the staple (-0.25, -0.27 and -0.25 in the 3 groups of sheep resp.). The correlations of the amount of wool wax with fibre length were low and non-significant.
