For Swedish Landrace gilts (7-193 per group) mated first at less than 7, 7-8, 8-9, 9-10 or <more or =>10 months of age, the percentage farrowing was 95, 93, 93, 97 and 100 resp., age at 1st farrowing averaged 326, 351, 379, 404 and 450 days, the number of liveborn piglets per litter 8.6, 8.5, 8.5, 8.9 and 10.4, the percentage of producing 10 litters during their lifetime was 16, 16, 15, 3 and 0, the number of litters produced averaged 5.3, 5.8, 5.3, 4.2 and 6.0, and the lifetime number of liveborn piglets per sow 49.9, 52.8, 49.0, 36.8 and 52.9. Of all the correlations among fertility traits, those significant were of age at 1st mating with age at 1st farrowing (0.75), age at last farrowing with the lifetime production of litters (0.99) and piglets (0.95), and lifetime production of litters with lifetime production of piglets (0.96).
