The morphology and biology of Subanguina radicicola (Nematoda, Tylenchida)

S. radicicola found on Poa annua in the Moscow region, USSR, is redescribed and figured. In natural conditions, embryonic development lasted 10 to 14 days; the 2nd stage (invasive) larvae leave the egg and penetrate the root tips where they form galls of 2 to 20 individuals and cause hypertrophy of the parenchymatous tissue without affecting the conducting system. The volume of the affected cells is increased 5 to 10 times, the cells becoming irregular and the cytoplasm clear.
