A monosomic analysis of quantitative characteristics in spring bread wheat using a new series of Milturum 553 aneuploids

A monosomic analysis of quantitative characteristics in spring bread wheat using a new series of Milturum 553 aneuploids

Doklady Vsesoyuznoi Ordena Lenina i Ordena Trudovogo Krasnogo Znameni Akademii Sel' skokhozyaistvennykh Nauk Imeni V I Lenina 7: 11-13

A monosomic analysis of 10 yield-related quantitative characteristics is presented from crosses of 21 monosomic lines of Milturum 553 with Novosibirskaya 67. More often than not, the effect of monosomy on the phenotypic expression of the characteristics was negative rather than positive, indicating the loss of genes with dominance, epistatic or dose effects, or disturbance of the character's development due to the elimination of one of the homologous chromosomes.
