Aeration and odour control

Aeration and odour control

Agricultural waste utilization and management Proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Agricultural Wastes, 16-17 December 1985, Chicago, Illinois, USA: 454-459

Aerobic treatment which rapidly oxidises most odorants offers a method of odour abatement, but the reactor must be designed for the most desirable mixture of microbes and metabolic rate. For odour control, the best conditions are a reaction temperature of 25 degrees C, mean treatment time of 2-7 days and an aeration rate that maintains the dissolved oxygen above 15% of saturation.
