An automated system for harvesting wheat cultivars grown under a line source sprinkler irrigation system
A fast and accurate method was designed for harvesting and experimental lines of wheat grown under a line source sprinkler irrigation system. The harvesting system consisted of a strain gauge transducer energized with an amplifier-indicator mounted on a Hege combine, and 2 recorders. Both methods of monitoring the voltage output from the transducer were adequately sensitive to allow continuous harvest and recording of yields at different distances from the line source sprinkler.
