The patterns of abundance of adult females of Musca vetustissima at 3 field sites on the south coast of New South Wales in 1980-81 and 1981-82 varied little between sites but greatly between seasons. There was no direct relationship between the patterns of fly abundance and of catches of the native dung beetle Onthophagus granulatus at the same sites.
