Cadmium binding with high molecular weight soluble root exudates from maize (Zea mays L.)

Cadmium binding with high molecular weight soluble root exudates from maize (Zea mays L.)

Comptes Rendus de l' Academie des Sciences, III Sciences de la Vie 300(7): 379-382

The metal binding ability of a high MW (>1000) fraction isolated from axenic soluble maize root exudates was investigated. Using radiolabelled 109Cd and Sephadex G-50 chromatography, an organic fraction containing about 70% of the Cd2+ eluted was obtained.
