Calcium and phosphorus requirements of growing Yankasa lambs in the savanna region of Nigeria. The effect of varying levels of dietary calcium and phosphorus on the health, blood and bone characteristics of growing Yankasa lambs

Calcium and phosphorus requirements of growing Yankasa lambs in the savanna region of Nigeria. The effect of varying levels of dietary calcium and phosphorus on the health, blood and bone characteristics of growing Yankasa lambs

East African Agricultural and Forestry Journal 1985; 45(4): 308-312

In a 3 x 3 factorial design 54 Y'ankasa lambs 8 to 10 months old in the savanna region of Nigeria were given diets with 0.28, 0.56 or 0.77% calcium and 0.31, 0.40 or 0.60% phosphorus. Serum Ca did not differ among groups but serum P was significantly greater in groups given 0.60% P. Ca and P in plasma were normal for all groups.
