Calcium dependence of rapid auxin action in maize roots

Calcium dependence of rapid auxin action in maize roots

Plant Physiology 81: 439-443

Maize seedlings were raised under conditions of varying Ca availability to give high Ca seedlings (HC) supplied with 10 mM CaCl2, intermediate Ca seedlings (IC) with a supply from the seed only and low Ca seedlings (LC) depleted of Ca by treatment with 1 mM ethyleneglycol-bis-( beta -aminoethylether)-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid (EGTA).
