Calcium- and calmodulin-regulated phosphorylation of soluble and membrane proteins from corn coleoptiles

Plant Physiology 76(2): 359-365

The addition of Ca increased, in a concn-dependent manner, the phosphorylation of several soluble maize coleoptile polypeptides, while the calmodulin antagonists chlorpromazine and trifluoperazine inhibited the action of Ca. The Ca-promoted phosphorylation of membrane polypeptides was further increased by calmodulin and was inhibited by chlorpromazine.
