Calculation of precipitation utilization under farm conditions

The relation between natural precipitation and plant production is characterized numerically and the model is applied to typical meadow and chernozem soils with lime deposits. The model allows for trends in soil moisture, water utilization, water deficiency and drainage for the critical period and over the whole growing period. The procedure could be used as a basis for selecting the best method of amelioration, or for determining the method of soil cultivation and the rate of irrigation.
