Calibration of skim milk-test bottles

Calibration of skim milk-test bottles

Journal of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists 68(3): 605

Babcock skim milk-test bottles, with a total scale capacity of only 0.1 ml and calibrated from 0 to 0.5% in 0.01% increments, were tested using a 250 micro l syringe. The needle of the syringe is fitted with a teflon tube and pipette tip. Mercury is injected from the syringe into the test bottle until it reaches the 0.5% calibration.
