Callus induction from barley microspores. The role of sucrose and auxin in a barley anther culture medium

A barley anther culture basic medium (BAC1) supplemented with 8 mg 2,4-D/litre and 9% sucrose and replenished at 10 day intervals with basic medium containing 1 mg IAA/litre and 3% sucrose was optimal for anther response (21%) and productivity (67 calluses/100 anthers plated) in Elrose.
