Callus tissue formation on grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) scion shoots

Callus tissue formation on grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) scion shoots

Sbornik UVTIZ, Zahradnictvi 13(1): 12-21

Scion wood was cut in December and stratified at 28 degrees C in moist sawdust at intervals throughout the winter to study the rate of callusing. Callus was formed within 15-20 days in December and within 10-15 days in March. Callus formation was more rapid on scions taken just below the 10th, 11th or 12th node on a shoot than from more basal nodes.
