Can and closure structure

United States Patent: (US 4 533 064)

A can or similar container of the type used for holding e.g. dried milk and usually equipped with a removable top cover includes a detachable thin-foil partition mounted over the open top of the can body. The partition has score or cut lines defining a semi-circular opening for dispensing the product, and a pull tab which allows the partition to be detached. The partition has an integral rivet-like hollow bulge (with reinforcing filler) for securing the pull tab to the partition.
