Changes in milk yield and in milk chemical and physical properties during lactation period in Egyptian, Baladi goats

Egyptian Journal of Dairy Science 12(2): 123-134

Av. total milk yield of 14 Egyptian Baladi goats over a lactation period of 16 wk was 32.3 kg, mean daily yield increasing gradually to a max. of 0.338 kg at 10 wk. Av. fat and TS contents increased from 1.8 and 10.3%, resp., in the 2nd wk of lactation to a max. of 3.7 and 12.2% in the 10th wk, while SNF content decreased from 8.52% in the 2nd wk to 8.41% in the 16th wk.
